HUMANS SPRING/WINTER 2019/20
COLLECTION HUMANS IS A STORY ABOUT A CONTEMPORARY TRAVELLER, WHO STARTS HIS JOURNEY TO TIBET DRESSED AS A PUNK, BUT ALL ADVENTURES AND DISCOVERIES TRANSFORM HIS URBAN OUTFIT INTO SOMETHING ELSE. THE TIBETIAN TEMPLES, THEIR MAGNIFICENT GOLDEN TOWERS AND COLOURFUL OPULENCE OF THE INTERIORS, THE TIBETIAN MONKS AND NATIVE PEOPLE, THE WAY THEY WEAR THEIR COSTUMES, ELEMENTS FROM THE CLOTHING OF OTHER TRAVELLERS, FROM OTHER CULTURES OR SUBCULTURES – EVERYTHING MELTS AND BLENDS INTO HIS ALREADY EDGY STYLE. YET HIS MAIN REVELATION IS OUTSIDE THE CULTURAL OR SUBCULTURAL BOUNDARIES – ALL BORDERS AND LIMITS ARE FICTIONAL – WE ARE ALL HUMANS.THE COLLECTION IS CREATED FROM NATURAL MATERIALS OR NATURAL-LIKE SYNTHETICS. NATURAL FIBER VELVET, DENIM AND COTTON WOVEN FABRICS, FAUX FURS IN NATURAL AND NOT-SO-NATURAL TONES – THE PRESENCE OF ARTIFICIAL MATERIALS IS SUBTLE. CLASSIC PIED-DE-POULE PATTERNS IS USED INSTEAD OF TRADITIONAL TO PUNK CULTURE TARTAN FABRICS, LIKEWISE THE TRADITIONALLY SILVER-TONED METALLIC CLOSURES ARE REPLACED WITH BUCKLES AND ZIPPERS IN GOLDEN TONES, AND PYRAMID RIVETS, SPIKES ARE IN MULTICOLOUR TONES, GIVING A WARMER FEELING IN ASSOCIATIONS.
